Sinarahma exceeded expectations at Te Rapa with a performance that left little doubt she can take full advantage of her remaining opportunities.

The multiple stakes winning daughter of Darci Brahma finished a luckless second in Saturday’s Gr.3 Eagle Technology Stakes (1600m) in her first appearance since she triumphed in the Gr.3 Rotorua Cup (2200m) in May.

In between times, the Allan Sharrock-trained eight-year-old has been served by Westbury Stud resident Tarzino.

“I thought she would run very well at Te Rapa, but I did think she would have been one run short,” the New Plymouth horseman said.

“Had she got the break that she needed, she should have won. She is a very good mare and she’s in foal and it’s the best she’s ever been.”

Sinarahma, who has won four black type events and finished runner-up in the Gr.1 Thorndon Mile (1600m), will make a return trip to Te Rapa to make her next appearance on December 10.

“She’ll go to the Cal Isuzu Stakes (Gr.2, 1600m) and then the Zabeel Classic (Gr.1, 2000m),” Sharrock said.

“I’ve also got a chance to run her in the City Of Auckland Cup (Gr.3, 2400m). That will be 119 days since her service and you only get 120 days so we’re in cramped quarters you could say.”

Sinarahma is part-owned by Sharrock, who prepared her mother Shez Sinsational to win four Group One events and was New Zealand’s Champion Stayer of the 2011-12 season.

Meanwhile, stablemate Darci La Bella has trained on well since she romped to victory in the Gr.2 Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes (1400m) at Pukekohe.

“She’ll got to the Manawatu Challenge Stakes (Gr.2, 1400m) on December 17 and then she’ll go to the paddock,” Sharrock said.

“She looks like a genuine Tarzino Trophy (Gr.1, 1400m) sort. I’ve kept raising the bar with her and thought she’d fail, I’ve under-rated her.”

Another daughter of Darci Brahma, the five-year-old has won 10 of her 16 starts.
